Too many businesses base their strategies and pricing relative to their competition. This in itself is actually smart, however when businesses start focusing less on their customers and more on competition, it could lead to trouble.
To ensure this doesn't happen, it is always smarter to play safe and focus more on customer than competition because consumer confidence can go a long way in building your brand and reputation. Your customers should always be your no. 1 priority, irrespective of whether you're a b2b / b2c business. At the end of the day, you can't control your competitors, but you can always control your customers. And establishing strong customer relations, is like the roots of a tree. The stronger the foundation, the better the long term results. :)
